Food Tour

Cost:
Price for joinable Food tour: 85 EUR for adults. Youth up to 16 years 75 euro.

Information:
The tour starts in Florence’s San Lorenzo neighborhood and the central market, where the Florentines do their shopping. Here at an historical gourmet shop we get to taste several cheeses, glazes, crostini, chutneys, do a crash course in aged balsamic vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, wine and more. We will then be moving on to a local wine shop where just the locals go and learn about the Tuscan wines and their origins. Last but not least it’s time to visit one of Florence’s oldest and best gelato shops, where we try gelato, sorbetto and semi-freddi and learn how to combine the best flavors. Each place we visit is chosen for its historic significance and outstanding reputation among locals and connoisseurs. We have gluten free options for people that have an intolerance but please note that we can not offer fresh gluten free bread and sweets.

Combo promotion rate on a tour starting with a guided tour of the Accademia museum (50 minutes) directly followed by the Food tour (see above). You can’t come to Florence and miss Michelangelo’s masterpiece, David! Listen to stories about Michelangelo, a stubborn, difficult and fascinating genius. Who was David? Why was he nude? We will book the tickets for you for an easy and comfortable access to the museum. Afternoon food tour

Information:
The afternoon tour starts in Florence’s San Lorenzo neighborhood. The historical market in Florence is closed in the afternoon so we will be enjoying our food tastings in a couple of historical florentine shops. We start a historical gourmet shop with a full wine tasting where we will get to pair wine with several cheeses, glazes, crostini, chutneys and much more. At this point it is time to learn more about balsamic and extra virgin oil. Why don’t italians mix olive oil and balsamic and dip their bread? Can you really put balsamic vinegar on ice cream?

We will then be moving on to a local typical salumeria where we will be trying and comparing different cold cuts of the antipasto toscano. The Pasticceria will be the next stop and here we enjoy coffee with pastries and learn why italians like their espresso so strong. Last but not least it’s time to visit one of Florence’s oldest and best gelato shops, where we try gelato, sorbetto and semi-freddi and learn how to combine the best flavors. Each place we visit is chosen for its historic significance and outstanding reputation among locals and connoisseurs.

Uffizi tour -Venus and aperitivo

Cost:
Price for a joinable tour (up to 10 people) 59 euro per person, including your yummy aperitivo at one of the most famous bars in Florence.

We will book the tickets for you for an easy and comfortable access to the museum. Please note that the museum fee is not included in our rate. The museum fee can vary from 10-25 euro per person depending on the season.

You will learn to understand  (and not just see) some of the most famous artworks by Italian master artists like Leonardo Da Vinci, Botticelli, Michelangelo, Rafael, Titian and many more.

See masterpieces like Birth of Venus, Spring time, Tondo Doni, Medusa and others while your hear some fascinating ‘Renaissance gossip,’ including stories of feuds and rivalries that involve some of the many artists whose work hangs in the Uffizi. After the overwhelming Uffizi you will get to sit down and enjoy a wonderful prosecco based drink in one of the most famous bars in Florence.

This is a joinable classical tour of Florence that includes the must sees in Florence (Ponte Vecchio, Duomo,squares, beautiful outdoor sculptures) but also gossip: Hear about Michelangelo’s and Leonardo’s fight, Medici gossip and much more. If you want to know who was murdered in the Catherdral of Florence e back in 1478 and why a monk was hung in the square, join us now!

Your guide will take you around at a relaxed place and you will also stop for gelato, coffee, a glass of wine and a panino at the oldest (and most hidden away) panino place in Florence. You will finish off drinking an aperitivo with your guide, happy checking off the “must see´s” from your mental list.

Don’t miss our amazing cooking classes with our amazing chef Marcella and her team!

All food will be cooked by you from scratch, you will start with your appetizer, moving on to learn how to make your own pasta, sauces, main course and desert. It’s a hands on cooking class and we only do small groups ( max 10 people).

Marcella is a warm woman from the island of Giglio, an island in the Tuscan archipelago with crystal sandy beaches. With more than 30 years of experience that includes owning and running several restaurants that have been mentioned in ” the gambero rosso” ( the Italian version of guide Michelin) we feel that she and her team is the absolute right pick for our Florence For Foodies guests.

Truffle day

Truffle day in Tuscany with cooking class, wine tasting and lunch 205 euro per person

Cost:
Price for joinable (max 6 persons) tour 205 euro per person. The tour runs with minimum 2 persons. Please note that none of the FFF guides will be in this tour.

The tour finishes around 2.30 pm.

Information:
You will meet up with the truffle hunter Massimo and his family at their house and go in to the beautiful tuscan hills to search for truffle together with one of their wonderful dogs. After a enjoyable and informative walk you have a couple of relaxing hours in front of you : cooking class, and a unique lunch consisting of starter, first course and desert with truffle! This will all be enjoyed with a wonderful wine tasting. The lunch is served in the family’s beautiful terrace. (Wheather permitting)

Additional information:
It’s very easy to take the 45 min local train from Florence to San Miniato, where Masssimo will pick you up. After you have enjoyed your lunch he will take you back to the station. The train tickets cost around 6 euro per person each way.
